p> Stereoscan photographs showed that both the inner and outer coating membranes of SAPCUs were formed by different size and shape micro particles of coating materials,which were closely stacked at random. Furthermore,adhesive cemented the particles and filled up the gaps among them,but there were still micro holes,which served as the channels for urea dissolving out,in and between the stacking layers. Method A series of products of SAPCUs with single membrane of SAP or with duplex membranes of modified mineral inside and SAP outside were developed by using different types and different water absorbent rates of SAPs as coating material,and large granule urea and modified mineral coated urea (ZECU and PRCU) as core fertilizers. The structure of fertilizers was studied by Scaning Electronic Microscopy (SEM),and the nutrient release characteristics were studied using water dissolution rate method and soil column leaching method.ResultThe? 24 hours N water dissolution rates of SAPCUs were 18.22%-83.87%,and N accumulated leaching rates in four weeks were 40.91%-65.38%,which decreased by 5.21%-40.68% compared with that of urea under the same experiment conditions.</p><p> Both of water and soil dissolution rates of SAPCUs decreased obviously along with the increase of SAP coating rate. Pot experiment was made to simulate different using methods of Super Absorbent Polymer(SAP),including deep using SAP,shallow using SAP,side part using SAP,all part using SAP and no using SAP(control),to understand the effect on growth and water use efficiency(WUE) of potato(Solanum tuberosum L.) under high and low water condition.The results showed that all SAP treatments enhanced potato plant height,and also accelerated root development under low water condition.Under high and low water conditions,the yields of potato to deep using SAP treatment were 9.4% and 16.6% higher than that of control,and WUE raised 12.82% and 54.73% respectively,and the yields of potato with side part using SAP treatment were 39.4% and 21.5% higher than that of control,and its WUE raised 58.79% and 59.46% respectively.Under low water condition,the yields and WUE of potato with all part using SAP treatment increased 15.4% and 56.76% respectively than that of control. This paper considers the application of Super Absorbent Polymer(SAP) in expansive concrete with different cementitious materials. The advantage of these water-swell-able super absorbent polymers is that they can absorb many times their weight in water with nominal or negligible increase in waste volume or weight.</p><p> Influence of SAP and GP waste in GP-SSC mixtures.
